Anne Owen McCormick
I am a lifelong Episcopalian, native of West Virginia, and a New Mexican for almost 25 years. I have been a member of St Thomas of Canterbury since moving to Albuquerque from Silver City in 2013. This is my second time on the Canterbury Vestry, and I also serve as the liaison to FaithWorks, a collaborative of local churches to address the needs of marginalized people in our midst. In the Diocese of the Rio Grande I served on the COMB Committee from 2014 – 2018, as well as a term on the Standing Committee.
My vision for St. Thomas of Canterbury is to be out into the community as much as we are within our own walls. Our location presents a great opportunity for us to work creatively with the University of New Mexico. I am also looking forward to developing a vigorous arts ministry drawing on the talents of our music director and our two extraordinary musical instruments, an Odell 1869 organ and a Chickering piano.
