Caring for Creation
Almighty God, in giving us dominion over things on earth, you made us fellow workers in your creation. Give us wisdom and reverence so to use the resources of nature, that no one may suffer from our abuse of them, and that generation yet to come may continue to praise you for your bounty; through Jesus Christ our Lord. AMEN

Part of our mission at Canterbury is to “honor God in all Creation.” In the springtime (around Earth Day) and again during late summer and early fall (during September and October, the latter part of the Season after Pentecost), we turn our liturgical focus towards God’s Gift in Creation. On the last Sunday of April we celebrate a special liturgy in honor of Earth Day. On the first Sunday of October we remember St. Francis of Assisi, Patron Saint of Creation, and celebrate a special festive liturgy including a special procession and a Blessing of the Animals.
Solar Panels are in our Future.
We are hopeful that Canterbury’s longtime goal of putting a solar installation on our roof will soon come to fruition. Our electrical system is being updated, and hail damage to the roof is being repaired, all in preparation for the solar array that may be in place by the end of the year.
